The Fishy Seafood Restaurant (OUT OF BUSINESS)

The Fishy Seafood Restaurant, 318 Village Road, Leland, NC
OUT OF BUSINESS
Seafood the way you like it. Prices are cheaper than most but the quality is surpasses most if not all in the area and the service is great. The best experience I have had in a seafood restaurant in a long time. None of that greasy oily seafood here, it is fried the way it should be, in hot oil and the oil is left in the cooker and not in the food. My favorite was the Clam Chowder and it is the kind your mama made, that is if you grew up here, no tomatoes in this chowder. There was plenty of food on the plate and all was excellent. We shared a small and had food left. The hush puppies are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be back!

Our overall Score: 10 out of 10

The best seafood house in the Wilmington area.

Medtown Seafood Restaurant (OUT OF BUSINESS)

Medtown Seafood Restaurant on Oleander Drive

If you like seafood you like it here. Prices are very reasonable and the service is great, One of the best experiences I have had in a seafood restaurant in the area. None of that greasy oily seafood here, It is fried the way it should be, in hot oil and the oil is left in the cooker and not in the food. My favorite was the deviled crab, only complaint about it there just was enough deviled crab. Of course the shell was full, but it was like peanuts you could not stop at just one. There was plenty of food on the plate and all was excellent. The only thing I would change is I would give larger portions on cold slaw. I didn't ask for more so I may have been able to get more. I'll be back!

Our overall Score: 9.7 out of 10

One of the best seafood houses around.

Carolina Bar-B-Que at Murrayville

Carolina Bar-B-Que at Murrayville on North College Road.

It's buffet and for buffet it is good and the price is not bad. I would put Casey's a notch above though. Service is great and selection is good. The best thing is that there is plenty of room and even when it is full you will not feel crowded. It is worth trying if you like country cooking.

Our overall Score: 9.0 out of 10

Carolina Bar-B-Que was worth returning to.

Rucker Johns

Rucker Johns on Carolina Beach Road at Monkey Junction, Wilmington, NC

A really enjoyable meal. Prices are reasonable, maybe slightly on the high side. Service and food are excellent. This may be the reason the parking lot is always full. Don't let that scare you away there is plenty of seating and I doubt that you will have to wait. After saying all of that I do have one complaint. The tea there could stand some improvement, it tends to taste a little like instant tea. Other than that I have no complaints.

Our overall Score: 9.2 out of 10

Rucker Johns was a pleasant experience.

Old Salty's Seafood

Old Salty's Seafood on the Boardwalk at Carolina Beach, NC

It's worth the walk. Old Salty's has been a main stay on the Boardwalk for years. The reason for this, just plain good food. The best that I have found on Carolina Beach. Southeast North Carolina was once known for it's seafood but as the old family owned restaurants died out new owners moved in from outside the area the quality suffered. Not so at Old Salty's, it is as good as ever. It will take you back 40 years to when NC and good seafood were one in the same.

Our overall Score: 9.6 out of 10

It is the BEST seafood on Carolina Beach.

Jones Fish Camp

Jones Fish Camp on Market Street in Ogden, Wilmington, NC

Don't waste your time or money. The building is perfect, but it stops there. There is no oil shortage at Jones Fish Camp. Everything comes straight out of the fryer onto the plate with out draining. If that's not bad enough it is soaked in oil. My guess is the heat is to low in the fryer or maybe they are using a cheap grade of oil. Maybe both? Absolutely no taste other than the oil. The crab dip is mostly cream cheese and very little crab, not the worse crab dip I have ever eat but it is a close 2nd. The only plus was the waitress and she very good though over worked and apologetic for the food.
Would I go back? Not a chance, not even if you paid me. They just have to much to over come and Wilmington has to many places to get better seafood. It is an insult to the original Jones Seafood of Ogden!!

Our overall Score: 5.6 out of 10

I would not waste my time or money on Jones Fish Camp.

Panda

Panda on Market Street in Ogden, Wilmington, NC

If you like oriental you have to try the Panda in Ogden. In is right next to Big Lots on Market Street. It is one of the best if not the best oriental restaurants in the area. Talk about personal service, that is what you get there. If you like or even if you don't like Won Ton soup you will like theirs. It is absolutely the best I have had anywhere. So give them a try. Walk in, sit down and relax and enjoy it. No buffet and everything is cooked fresh for you.

Our overall Score: 10 out of 10

I can highly recommend the Panda.

Frank's Pizza

Frank's Pizza on the Boardwalk at Carolina Beach, NC

Frank's Pizza is the place to go if you are visiting Carolina Beach and like pizza. You can get t by the slice or a whole pizza pie. It is made fresh and just the way you want like it. The pizza is hand tossed the old fashioned way. You can at in or takeout. Finish your meal and walk out the door and across the Boardwalk to Britt's Donut for desert.

Our overall Score: 9 out of 10

I recommend the Frank's Pizza.
